Use your surroundings for maximum effect. Your position on the battlefield is vitally important, as many attacks in Guild Wars 2 reward tactical player movement. You can also pick up environmental weapons to gain advantage in battle—anything from a simple wine bottle to a rock-lobbing catapult to a robotic siege golem.
The skills, powers, and attacks that you’ll wield are impactful and visually impressive. You can create giant crushing stone hands, turn into a tornado that whirls with deadly speed, summon flocks of vicious birds of prey, call down fire from above, and much more. With such a vast arsenal of skills at your command, you can adapt your tactics as needed.
The skill system is easy to learn and rewarding to master. Your basic skills come from the weapons you wield, and then you can customize your character by earning a wide range of racial skills, healing skills, profession skills, and devastating elite skills as you play.
Every profession in Guild Wars 2 excels at combat, without exception. Because each profession is so versatile and has such a wide range of skills and powers, it doesn’t matter what mix of professions are on the battlefield.
You can also team up with other players to perform spectacular combo attacks for extra damage, like shooting arrows through a flaming wall to create a barrage of flaming projectiles, or whirling through a darkness field to launch life-stealing bolt attacks at your foes.
